Zack Frank, aka zfrank, has been writing music since he first picked up a guitar over 20 years ago. After years of battling self-doubt and nourishing an eternal flame of determination, he finally summoned enough courage to start recording his songs and share them with the world.
His debut EP "Season 1: Taking Chances" contains some of the earliest songs Zack ever wrote. The album title references both this early "season" of his life (Season 1) as well as the title track (Taking Chances) which serves as a double entendre whose lyrics describe the risks a hopeless romantic takes while dating, and whose title also references the fear an artist experiences in sharing his creations with the public when he's defaulted to shying away from such vulnerability for so long.
The age of this set of songs ought to be apparent to many listeners with audible influences including Jack Johnson, early John Mayer, Dave Matthews, Jason Mraz, and other popular artists of the early 2000s.
In releasing "Season 1" and continuing on to produce and release subsequent seasons, zfrank hopes to inspire other artists-in-hiding of any type to learn to tolerate the inevitable fears, embrace vulnerability, and believe in their inherent worth enough to make their unique voices heard in whatever form it may take. zfrank believes the universe finds purpose in expressing itself through each of us, and when this calling is ignored, suffering inevitably ensues. Let your light shine, it's what you're meant to do ✨
